YES..I got this one COVER$ED.../
You get a VOX-operated Tape Recorder..
You get a DOOR-activated BELL(buzzer)not really loud..just enough to set off the TAPE Recorder..RADIOShack has some Magnetic Switch Buzzers..there's a huge Siren..and more subtle "ding-dong"..
You use the DING-DONG..that activates your VOX-operated tape recorder..so that any entrance is recorded on sound tape..I use Re-Chargable Batteries so I can place the Recorder in a closet that is right next to my front APT-door..((you need))to install a LOCK--on that Closet Door..and just lock everything else..

I also use a LOREX Baby Monitor..to guard my Entrance..
its attached to one of my VCRs(VHS)Recorders..
..
I basically just use my SOUND Recorder when I return..because the Video Recorder takes alot more time to review..
I rely on the Audio surveilance..the VIDEO is back-up..
