In your opinion, is the Angel Care movement monitor a good investment?

ME

Okay we are all set for our little one, except we still haven't got a monitor for her. I really want the angelcare movement monitor. But before I spend over $100 on this monitor... I wondered what everyone else experiences were with it... and if you like it.

I think it will really give me the peice of mind, thats why I really want it. But just wondered what you guys thought of it...
I plan on purchasing it sometime within the next week... Just figured I'd get some last opinions on the product.
She's going to be sleeping next to us in her bassinet for the first few months as well. So she'll never be but a arms reach away.

Answer
YES YES YES!!!! We love our Angel Care monitor! If nothing else, it gives you piece of mind. Unlike many new parents, we didn't go in and check on the baby constantly to make sure she was still breathing. You can even look at an icon on the monitor and see that it is detecting movement. It does not go off constantly if you install it right (i.e. make sure your put the motion pad on a board underneath the mattress...it'll tell you what to do in the instruction manual). Our baby has been a scooter since the time we brought her home from the hospital, and we have only had 2 or 3 false alarms where she has moved off the pad. Another cool feature: it has an alarm for temperature. If the nursery gets too hot or cold (you make up the temperature range), a different alarm will go off. This is really helpful because they have found a correlation between babies getting too hot and SIDS. Angelcare has it all, and we love it! Well worth the money!

Have you used the Angelcare Deluxe Movement Sensor w/ Sound Monitor?

I'm wondering if anyone here has used one of these and how they liked it. I have read reviews on amazon and seen adds for it that make it look appealing, but before spending that kind of money on one, I would like to hear about other mothers experiences.

Is it worth it? I always would freak out in the middle of the night with my first 2 children. Even if they slept wonderfully, I would be up checking to make sure they were breathing. It would be nice to have something that would help ease my mind and sleep with less stress.

Answer
I had one with my son and it's the ONLY baby item I didn't get rid of when he outgrew it... I plan on using it with every child I have. Mine also had a feature that it made a small tick whenever my son breathed, I could lay in bed, hear it tick and know he was breathing...

A few things to consider though, my room is completely quiet, no fan, nothing... my friend bought one too and ended up taking hers out of her daughters crib after a few days because he fan screwed it up... it would still continue to act like he daughter was breathing when she took her out of the crib because the fan would vibrate the crib (yes they are that touchy)

So if you don't sleep with a fan then go for it, like I said I loved mine, but if you have a fan or an air conditioner in your room or something like that you might have to consider taking it out of your room if you want one of those monitors...

Totally worth the money I would recommend it to anyone!
